Bifold Hangar Doors Alternative

Bifold hangar doors are commonly installed on small private hangars or “T hangar” developments. They have always been an economical solution for small openings.  But for larger width hangar door openings, are they the most economical solution?
In our article Bifold Hangar Doors, Spec-Dor looks at some of the common problems associated with bifold hangar doors when they fail.  The article also looks at the hidden costs with bifold doors due to the impact on the building structure and how this impact increases as the width of the hangar opening increases.
Spec-Dor proposes its new ECO bottom rolling hangar door as a cost-effective alternative to the bifold hangar door. We take a look at the installation at Central Aviation's new hangar at Sprinkbank Airport outside of Calgary.

The new hangar required an opening of 80ft wide by 19ft high.  Spec-Dor installed their new ECO design 4-blade Slide-to-one-side hangar door solution.
If you are looking for an alternative to unreliable bifold hangar doors, contact Spec-Dor and we'll be glad to help you.
