Hangar Fire Suppression

Hangar_Foam.jpg

Why FBO hangar doors are mostly 28ft high or less.

NFPA 409 Standard on aircraft hangars, a Group II Hangar is defined as a hangar having an aircraft access door height of 28 ft. (8.5 m) or less and a single fire area not exceeding 40,000 sqft. (3716 sqm) Fire supression systems are an important factor when designing a new hangar. Most FBOs or Fuel and Boarding Operations build their hangars with doors 28ft high. Our project at SkyService is an excellent example of a premium FBO with a 400ft wide door.
